Omron, a Japanese player in industrial automation technology, on Wednesday said it will train and skill 1,000 fresh engineering graduates every year at its newly opened automation center in Bengaluru, to help India increase “employable talent” in the manufacturing sector and create a resilient, future-ready industrial ecosystem.

According to Mr Yamanishi, training will be offered to new graduates in various disciplines, to equip them with automation technology skills and make them easily employable by the manufacturing industry in India.
He said, “This new center is more than a showcase of technology. It is an engine for co-creation. With the efficiency and innovation of smart technologies, such facilities are set to become one of the major catalysts in India’s journey towards becoming a global manufacturing leader.”
The new automation centre, part of OMRON’s global network of 44 such facilities and Proof of Concept (POC) laboratories, will cater to the talent and service needs of manufacturers, including micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across the country. The center will provide practical automation solutions to manufacturing challenges, facilitate proof-of-concept development, provide technical training and enable collaboration with manufacturers, machine builders and system integrators to strengthen India’s manufacturing capabilities.
The Automation Center is a dynamic hub where an experienced team of experts facilitates demonstrations and interactions with manufacturers of a comprehensive suite of advanced technology-based solutions including sensing, control, machine vision, security, robotics and AI-driven technologies developed by OMRON as well as its global and regional partners.
“Our Automation Center takes a solutions-based approach to help Indian manufacturers address the challenges of creating safe workplaces, delivering high-quality products and improving efficiency,” said Sameer Gandhi, Managing Director, OMRON Automation, India.
Omron solutions for data visualization, flexible assembly, primary and secondary packaging, end-to-end inspection, quality inspection and automated palletizing and many more are designed to support industry sectors including electric mobility, digital, food and commodities, logistics and pharmaceuticals and others.
