According to James Suranga Perera, Executive Director of the International Tea Committee, there are all materials in India to become the superpower of the tea industry.

In a total global tea production of 7.074 billion kg and consumption of 6.97 billion kg in 2024, India produced 1.303 billion kg and consumed 1.22 billion kg.

On the export front, Kenya, who is the largest exporter of tea, ships the vessels almost full quantity and China, the second largest exporter, domesticly consumes sufficient amounts of tea that he produces. Sri Lanka exported $ 1.4 billion to 245 million kg. However, India exported 255 million kg exports of about $ 800 million.

On the domestic front, Indian consumers are ready to pay more for quality quality. While the consumption of India’s per capita is 840 grams per year, Türkiye’s 3 kg per person is the highest at the globally.
