In the Interbank Forex, the domestic unit opened at 87.70 and went to the range of 87.59–87.72 during the day before settling at 87.72 (provisional), which was just 3 money higher than its previous bandh.
On Monday (August 11, 2025), the domestic unit closed at 87.75 against the US dollar.
Traders said that investors are in a waiting-and-watch mode ahead of the US CPI inflation figures and are also indicating from US-Russia talks on 15 August.
“We hope that the rupee will trade with negative bias due to the ongoing trade tariff war between India and the US, which can also pressurize the outflow of FII.”
“However, the decline in US dollars and the fall in crude oil prices can support the rupee at a low level. Investors now focus on the US and Indian inflation figures this week.
