Autodesk allows local storage option for Indian customers in an attempt to boost data security, recoverability, trust

Autodesk said on Thursday (August 7, 2025) that its customers in India can now store and manage their data within the country. Until now, no local storage options were available for the country, and therefore, the customer data was stored outside the country.

The new system will promote data security, privacy and recovery and support regulatory compliance, the California-based firm stated that 3D provides design, engineering and entertainment software.

A primary project with India is now available as data storage spaces, businesses and public sector organizations, especially in regulated areas such as government, infrastructure and utilities, can satisfy customers’ needs and preferences, taking advantage of enterprise-grade security, privacy and recovery, the company said.

Autodesk said that its decision to expand regional offerings will also strengthen its commitment to India’s digital change. The design firm also stated that a recent survey indicated that Indian organizations (37%) expressed lack of confidence in equipment due to issues such as data security and will address this concern by unlocking this concern to secure cloud cooperation equipment with local offering regional storage.

With this, customers of AECO (Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Operations) Autodesk will be able to select India as their primary project data storage area when using Autodek Docs, Autodesk BIM collaboration, and Autodesk BIM Associate Pro.

He said that the new-based India-based regional storage offering businesses and public institutions would empower cloud-operated design and fulfilling the full potential of construction, while distributing data integrity and international standards of performance, he said.
