With the period and frequency of the episode of cough between Indians since the onset of Kovid -19, the world’s largest consumer health company and manufacturers of Binadril Cuff Syrup have announced ‘cough clinics’, which is an industry -first initiative with the Association of India (API) of India.
As part of this scientific initiative, Kenavuyu will set up 10 cough centers of excellence across India, where more than 1,000 doctors will be trained for effective diagnosis of cough in a year and prescribed the correct drug.
The first cough center of excellence has been Launched in Mumbai at BSES Hospital, Andheri.
Kenavyu India’s Self-Care, Business Unit Head, Prashant Shinde said, “Binadril, doctors have been trusted for more than 50 years. We continue to work together with professionals to bring the most targeted solutions to pursue science behind cough and bring better treatment results.”
“Through our cooperation with API we will jointly simplify cough management. This initiative will help providing important clinical training to healthcare professionals and will equip them to follow evidence-based management strategies in cough.”

The General Secretary, the API said, “Despite the high burden of cough -related consultations in India, standardized clinical equipment has largely disappeared in primary care, which has recalled excessive dependence on empirical treatment and initial intervention opportunities.”
“The cough clinic will offer physicians in primary care with special training and equipment to understand various types of cough and improve patient care,” he said.
The cough clinic will include three learning modules. Each module is designed to focus on special aspects of cough evaluation, sound identity, treatment decision making and rational treatment.
The content is curate and valid by experts from the Association of Physicians (APIs) of India, and each session will be anchored by the leading pulmonary.
Each participant doctor will undergo an intensive evaluation Along with measuring the knowledge shift, a net promoter score (NPS) will be collected to evaluate experience and effectiveness.
After the Mumbai launch, the initiative will be rolled out in major cities including Lucknow, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai and Kolkata in the coming months.
In India, the average adult experiences three episodes of cough per year, while children may experience 7–10 episodes per year. Cough is one of the most common symptoms treated by primary care doctors.
However, due to lack of medical justification behind some prevailing yogas in the market, cough syrup has been subjected to scanner in recent times.
Despite the high phenomenon of cough and respiratory diseases, 70% of individuals receive experience-based treatment without a confirmed diagnosis.
The absence of a systematic approach has often used multi-sensory irrational cough yogas, leading to the risk of side effects and especially increases the cost of treatment in weaker sections of the population, including the elderly and children, including the elderly and children.
