Nifty, Sensex decline in early trade after sharp rally in previous session

In the early trade on Friday (May 16, 2025), the benchmark indices senses and Nifty declined in the initial trade on Friday (May 16, 2025). Due to selling in IT shares, the markets were low and Asian markets had a large extent.

Following a weak start for the day, the 30-shire BSE benchmark Sensex recorded a decline of 252.97 in the initial trade. NSE Nifty dropped 67.6 points, at 24,994.50.

Among the Asian markets, Japan’s Nikkei 225 index, Shanghai’s SSE Composite Index and Hong Kong’s Hong Seng were doing less trading, while South Korea’s Kospi quoted a positive area. The American markets were mostly high on Thursday (May 15, 2025).

Global oil benchmark brant crude rose 0.08% to $ 64.58 per barrel. According to exchange data, foreign institutional investors (FII) bought a price of ₹ 5,392.94 crore on Thursday (May 15, 2025).

On Thursday (May 15, 2025) rally for the second day, the BSE Sensx jumped 1,200.18 points or 1.48% to settle at a seven -month high of 82,530.74. The Nifty rose to reach a seven -month peak of 395.20 points or 1.60% 25,062.10.
