Apple on Monday appealed to challenge the decision of an American judge, who ordered the Tech company to immediately open its attractive app store in more competition.
In a court notice, Apple said that it would ask the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco to review the April 30, which was found in contempt of earlier order of 2020, which was in a case of no -confidence prosecution brought by epic games.
US District Judge Yavon Gonzalez Rogers said in his judgment that Apple failed to follow 2021 prohibitory orders, designed to allow developers more easily to allow steer consumers for potentially cheap non-oppar payment options.
Gonzalez Rogers also referred to Apple for federal prosecutors for a potential criminal contempt check and one of its officials. He refused to catch his order, alleging delaying Apple and confusing the court objectively.
Gonzalez Rogers said, “Apple demanded to maintain a revenue stream of billions in the direct disregard of the prohibition of this court.”
Apple refused to violate the conditions of the court order.
Apple and EPIC Games did not immediately respond to the remarks requests.
Apple’s appeal notice included its employed legal arguments.
The lawsuit by Epic Games, the manufacturer of the online video game Fortnite, aims to loosen Apple’s grip on transactions in applications that use its iOS operating system and how apps are distributed to consumers.
Gonzalez Rogers ordered Apple to abolish several practices, which he said that the earlier prohibition was designed to sideline the prohibition, including 27% fees levied on the app developers, when the customers of the Apple meet an app purchasing outside the App Store.
The judge also prevented Apple from using the so-called “scare screen” to prevent consumers from using third-party payment options.
