US President Donald Trump said that on Tuesday (April 15, 2025) Auto Stock said he could temporarily exempt the industry from tariffs that he was first placed on the sector.

Motherrson jumped more than 8%, Bharat Forge rose nearly 6%, Tata Motors rallies 4.70%, and Mahindra and Mahindra climbed 4%on BSE.

The TVS motor’s stock increased 2.93 percent, Bajaj Auto (2.67%), Hero MotoCorp (2.42%), Ashok Leyland (2.35%), Maruti (2%) and Eicher Motors (1.84%).

The BSE Auto Index rose 3.43% to 47,634.47.

The 30-Sare BSE benchmark Sensx scored 1,750.37 points to scoring 76,907.63 in the initial trade. NSE Nifty rose 539.8 points to 23,368.35.

Vikas Jain, the head of research of Reliance Securities, said, “Combining the positive attitude, US President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he was considering a discount on tariffs for imported vehicles and auto parts.”

Mr. Trump on Monday indicated temporarily exemption to the auto industry from tariffs, which he was first placed on the sector.
