In the shares of Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL), the government said in Parliament on Thursday (March 13, 2025) that the state -owned telecom firm earned ₹ 2,134.61 crore by January 2025 by January 2025 to ₹ 2,134.61 crores by January 2025.
MTNL’s scrips increased to 18.36% and 51.30 and .15 51.18 per piece on both Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) respectively.
Government country handing over MTNL operations to BSNL; Missing is unlikely
Market benchmarks were trading in positive zones, with 30-shyers growing 139.40 points in BSE or to trade at 0.19% 74,169.16. The NSE Nifty was at 29.75 points or 0.13% more at 22,500.25.
The government informed Parliament on Wednesday (March 12, 2025) that the state -owned telecom firms BSNL and MTNL have earned a total of ₹ 12,984.86 crore from 2019 from land, buildings, tower and fiber.
According to data shared by Minister of State Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar for communication in the Lok Sabha, BSNL has earned ₹ 2,387.82 crore by January 2025 and MTNL ₹ 2,134.61 crore from mudification of land and buildings.
In a written reply, Mr. Sekhar said, “BSNL and MTNL are only mashing land and construction assets that are not necessary for their own use in the future of the future and for which it has the right to move ownership.”
BSNL has earned ₹ 8,204.18 crore and MTNL ₹ 258.25 crore from the mudlization of close assets including tower and fiber by January 2025. Mr. Sekhar said, “As per the approved policy of the government, assets are being migrated and its impact on PSU is being closely monitored.”
