Equity benchmark Indices Sensx and Nifty shut down marginally on Wednesday (March 12, 2025), due to increasing concerns over a potential global economic recession, due to heavy sales pressure in telecommunications and realty stocks.
The 30-Sare BSE Sensex fell 72.56 points or 0.10% to close at 74,029.76. During the session, it declined by 504.16 points or 0.68% to touch a low of 73,598.16. Similarly, NSE Nifty slipped 27.40 points or 0.12% and ended at 22,470.50. In the session, it fell 168.35 points or 0.74% to hit the intrade low of 22,329.55.

In BSE regional indices, IT, IT, Tech, Realty, Telecommunications, Metal, capital goods, services and industrially focused focused major legs.
Conversely, energy, FMCG, financial services, healthcare, utilities, autos, bankex, consumers were durables, oil and gas and electricity beneficiaries. In Asian markets, Tokyo, Seoul, Shanghai and Hong Kong ended on a mixed note.
